Overview

A company in the packaging coating industry presented its latest innovation to clients at an exclusive event. Instead of the usual trade fair set-up, this event was designed with a sense of purpose, to appeal to the emotions.

Challenge

How to lure discerning international C-level clientele out of the exhibition center after an exhausting day at a trade fair – and working to a tight budget?

Solution

Over 90% of the guests accepted the enticing invitation. VMP’s strategy? Attractive design, good teasers in the run-up and personal client follow-up. An individual shuttle service provided extra incentive for the invited guests.

When they arrived at the venue, an exquisitely decorated and seductively lit disused hangar, the guests were greeted by their first surprise: a company-sponsored Infiniti car and a Porsche racing car.

Company executives and representatives had lively discussions, and guests were treated to a talk by Porsche Supercup racer Christian Engelhart. Lastly, special guest Marc Gallagher, with over 20 years’ experience in the Formula One industry, revealed the connection between Formula One and the innovation being showcased that evening. The event was crowned by a prize draw for VIP Formula One tickets and guests were treated to whisky and cigars.
