FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP MEETING

Overview

A global pharmaceutical company invited its 120 communications managers to a two-day management meeting in Barcelona. Twelve smaller meetings were held before and after the main meeting.

Challenge

When looking for an exclusive venue, it was important to take into account the sophisticated needs of our client. The space had to be multi-format: easy to transform into various layouts and equipped for a team activity. One of the main requirements was to inspire the participants and encourage them to participate actively. The reception area also had to be multifunctional, with space for catering, a Wall of Pride, five exhibition stands and two photo walls.

Solution 

The VMP team opted for a hotel with large meeting rooms and a reception area that was flexible enough to meet the numerous requirements. The sound design kept the mood buoyant throughout the meeting, with live musical interludes (DJ, cello, percussion, singers), stimulating jam sessions, jingles, entrance and exit music, and lively music during the breaks, with the musicians encouraging the audience to join in. Our aim was to create a fluid transition from presentation to interaction to keep the momentum going. The musical interludes were also used to ramp up the tension, to sharpen focus, and to grab people’s attention. On the evening of the first day, the participants joined forces to set the tone of the event and created a rip-roaring piece of music.
